Hotel Ellique in the heart of Rhodes Old Town

Rhodes Medieval Old Town is the largest in the world with an intact moat & wall reaching all around. Entering through one of the 9 gates is like taking a step back in time. You will discover a bazaar like shopping area where you can find anything from freshly ground Greek coffee to exquisite jewellery. The choice of restaurants, taverns, ouzerias, and cafeterias is breathtaking, as is the sight of the Grand Master Palace. A palace that was the seat of the Grand Master of the Knights of St. John from 1306 to 1522.

The old town is also full of secrets. Enter a small side alley and you will discover a labyrinth of small streets very much inhabited and alive. On one such path you will discover Hotel Ellique. Beautifully located next to a lush park, and carefully hidden away from the hustle and bustle. A place to totally relax, yet just a few blocks away from all of the above.

Pick up a towel and stroll down to Elli beach, linger by the fishing port just outside Kolona gate to see the catch of the day, take a boat ride along the east coast to a hidden cove, go shopping in the new town’s many designer boutiques, or spend an evening in the casino. Well you get the idea…

Jupiter presented nymph Rhodes to his son Apollo, god of the sun as his wife. That is why Rhodes is called the Island of the Sun. It is said that the god of hospitality chose Rhodes as his eternal home, which perhaps explains why the Rhodian hospitality is legendary, making the guests feel safe and welcome.

This renovated 14th-century property along one of Rhodes old town’s atmospheric cobbled side streets just oozes charm. Four spacious rooms overlook a pretty courtyard and thoughtful extras include free minibars, and local treats for breakfast.
